    Door and Drawer Material Settings
    In This Topic

Doors commonly change with each job. However, it still may be beneficial to set up a default by nominating the most commonly used door group and colours through Materials Manager.

The following will discuss setting global defaults as well as selecting different materials for individual doors and drawer fronts on a cabinet.

Remember global defaults are set in the Catalog and can be overridden in the Drawing as each job/drawing has its own criteria.

    Materials Manager

Doors are managed through Materials Manager and you have complete control over the data that is available.

Follow the links to the Library User Guide for a complete discussion of Materials Manager  and Creating Materials  which include video tutorials.

    Drawing/Cabinet Properties

    Groups

Doors can be set up for each of the Floor, Wall and Tall cabinet types. To do this uncheck the 'All As Floor' option.

Use the radio buttons to select the cabinet type and then use the material drop lists to select the Group and then the Colour.

Tall cabinets will either use the Floor type or when upper and lower doors, the upper doors can be the same as the Wall and the lower can be the same as the Floor - (click on image).

At cabinet level, individual doors (left/right) can also be selected - see Individual Doors below - click on image below for upper/lower.

    Edging

Edging is active if the door material has the 'Edge' option ticked on the Options page of the Materials Manager. This option only applies to Bench and Doors.

    Glass

Glass, plain or decorative, can be selected on Materials-Advanced > Door Options  page of the Drawing Properties and will be applied to all glass doors on the entire drawing or you can use a profile with DoorMaster LT .

Click to view 'Make Glass Door' options at cabinet level

At cabinet level, you can override the defaults by simply tick/untick the 'Make Glass Door' option on the General Settings page (click image to view). This will make all doors on the individual cabinet glass (cannot be controlled per door but the material/colour can - see below).

    Individual Doors

At cabinet level, individual doors can be selected and door material, using the drop lists, can be set for the Left and Right doors. Ensure the 'All Doors' option is unticked.

If the 'All Doors' option is enabled/ticked, unless changed, will default to the Drawing properties door material selection.

    Reset Material

If changes have been made to a cabinet material, individual doors can be reset back to the Drawing Properties by selecting the applicable door and using the 'Reset : Material' button (shown above).

    Drawer Fronts

The process for Drawer Fronts is exactly the same. However, the material for individual drawer fronts can only be changed if the 'Use Full Door for Drawer Fronts' option is NOT ticked, as shown here.

The 'Use Full Door for Drawer Fronts' option can also be set on the Cabinet Details > General Settings page as well as the Materials > Drawer Fronts page (shown).

The Drawing Properties option is located on the Materials-Advanced > Drawer Bank page (click on image).
