Mouse shortcuts can be useful for saving time on some of the more common events. All mouse shortcuts have an alternative method of accomplishing them without knowing the shortcut, but it can save a lot of time if you learn the shortcuts.

When Select mouse mode is enabled in Display 3D, the current selection is made visible by drawing a yellow outline in wireframe on top.

When Select is enabled, it changes to the Select tool, which allows you to highlight objects by...

Items (cabinets, walls, models etc) can only be selected when the Mouse Mode group of commands is in Select mode (not Navigate* mode - see tip below).
Deselect single items (i.e. one by one) by holding down Ctrl while using the left mouse button.
Deselect all items in one go, simply click on a blank area of the 3D page.
In Select mode, to format a cabinet/item, you can either...
Multiple items : Select by holding down Ctrl while using the left mouse button to select each item or while dragging a rectangle (click on image).

To deselect, hold down Ctrl while using the left mouse button on the selected item/s or simple left click on a blank area of the page.

When in 3D Navigate mode, as shown above, the Select button is disabled.
