Mouse Shortcuts

Mouse shortcuts can be useful for saving time on some of the more common events. All mouse shortcuts have an alternative method of accomplishing them without knowing the shortcut, but it can save a lot of time if you learn the shortcuts.

Plan View

3D Select

When Select mouse mode is enabled in Display 3D, the current selection is made visible by drawing a yellow outline in wireframe on top.

When Select is enabled, it changes to the Select tool, which allows you to highlight objects by...

select one cabinet/item by left clicking on them individually;

select multiple items by holding down the Ctrl key while left clicking individual items;
- or by clicking on a blank area of the drawing near items for selection and dragging the mouse to form a box.
  - any objects inside or touching the box will become selected.

Items (cabinets, walls, models etc) can only be selected when the Mouse Mode group of commands is in Select mode (not Navigate* mode - see tip below).

Deselect single items (i.e. one by one) by holding down Ctrl while using the left mouse button.

Deselect all items in one go, simply click on a blank area of the 3D page.

Format

In Select mode, to format a cabinet/item, you can either...

mouse right click to use the menu option;
or
double click the required cabinet/item to open format window.

* If you are in Navigation mode, holding down the Ctrl key will automatically changes the mode to Select, which is easier than manually changing the mode in the command ribbon. See topic on Format item window for a full discussion.

3D Select
Selected cabinet/s display in yellow.
- Individual items : Select by using the right mouse button, which will also present the menu, as shown.
- Multiple items : Select by holding down Ctrl while using the left mouse button to select each item or while dragging a rectangle (click on image).

To deselect, hold down Ctrl while using the left mouse button on the selected item/s or simple left click on a blank area of the page.

3D Navigation

When in 3D Navigate mode, as shown above, the Select button is disabled.

Move in 3D
Move a cabinet or group of cabinets a precise distance in 3D space. For more details, see topic on Move 3D dialog.

Rotate 3D Camera

This is easier than using the alternative 3D Navigate menu options - click here to view

Right click anywhere on the 3D page - see topic on 3D Navigate Menu.
Pan the 3D Camera

You can pan in any of the four directions. Remember it is the viewpoint that moves and not the object itself.
